IT Infrastructure and Architecture Review for Provincial Hospitals
The KZN Department of Health commissioned DLK to conduct IT infrastructure diagnostics for their Provincial Hospitals.
The client required diagnostics of the IT Infrastructure of 3 major provincial hospitals, with a view to improving response times on the Health Information System platform. They required full diagnostics of the Department's network infrastructure, data centre infrastructure and software applications.
DLK deployed a team comprising 2 Solution Specialists, 2 Technical Operators, a Technical Manager, a Project Manager and a Project Administrator.
The team used automated diagnostic tools to generate reports on usage and response times. These reports were analysed for abnormalities and patterns.
DLK provided a comprehensive report, and clear remedial action plans for improving system performance.
The work done was satisfactory , and was completed within scope.
Although the project initially presented challenges due to multiple stakeholder involvement on the Networks, Hosting and Application level, it was great to see it all come together in the end. We produced tangible diagnostic results, and the proposed remedial actions were accepted by all and implemented.
